Are you ready to be bold in the face of these unprecedented changes?

What does this year have in store for you?

Being bold is what it will take for the world to catch up and deal with the COVID aftermath. The future of our work and life is here!

We’ve heard for years about the importance of embracing change, being resilient, and managing all the transitions that change stirs up.

BUT now is the time to create something new! What is the future you need to create?

Are you a leader? Get ready then to embrace this 2022 uncertainty. What happens in your world when your staff is sick? Are they penalized for not coming to work? How do they handle childcare? Are you providing testing and have a plan in place to help them ease back into their WorkLife?

Are you an individual contributor? If so, do you have a gutsy plan that you can share to help with these WorkLife disruptions? Are you pushing your comfort zone and thinking ahead about how you can manage this uncertainty?

A “sit around and wait” mentality will not work for what the future requires! How can you be ready for this uncertainty? It requires a rehearsal mindset and the ability to take center stage when necessary.

Since 2021 was the year of the great resignation, what will 2022 shape up to be? At WorkLife, we predict that this will be the year of Leadership – Self, Team, and Organization, because now, more than ever, that is what’s required to heal us all!

The big opportunity now is that you get the chance to write your future script. It’s a time for a new way of transferring knowledge. Bring on people who have the obvious passion for a role regardless of skill. Identify talent development and recruiting to meet the organizational needs.

The future conversations will require brainstorming sessions, and team meetings where the innovative paths to the future are uncertain. Make it comfortable to be uncomfortable. Invite cutting-edge thinking where the upcoming expert comes from those in their current roles with the company and invite them to share knowledge.

A great resource we want to share with you is, GetSmarter, a 2U, Inc. brand, which created a study that uncovered these six themes of The Future of Work.

The Future of Work video describes what’s needed for businesses to adapt to the changing landscape. What sets humans apart, however, and is something that robots cannot learn, is the ability to be emotionally smart, e.g., self-aware, empathetic, and understanding of others. Although we’re reliant on technology, humans control the future. Skills like leadership, critical thinking, and relationship building are increasing in value and are necessary for the bold change that’s needed.

As you kick off 2022, start to think about ways you can create your future.

Keep these concepts in mind as you begin to write your future script. Always be learning and growing!
